When a mother puts her down,
When she smiles through a frown,
When her sobs don’t make a sound,
She has you.

As her brothers call her names,
As they bury her in shame,
As they drive her to the grave,
She has you.

When her friends are all too busy,
When her will to live is missing,
When they’re all so unforgiving,
She has you.

If she ever feels like dying,
If she’s in her room and crying,
If she doesn’t feel like trying,
She has you.

When you’re there with arms wide open,
When you stand without a motion,
When you’re her rock when she’s the ocean,
She thanks you.

As her tears are wiped off slowly,
As she stops feeling so lowly,
As she feels it complete and wholly,
She thanks you.

You’ve helped her through hard times
You’ve been there when she’s cried
You’ve saved her on a dime
She thanks you.

She felt like swallowing all
She wanted just to fall
She wanted to forget it all
She thanks you.

You brought her back to life.
Thank you.

"I love your eyes...but only with ketchup."
