NX: 3DS and Wii U Won't Lose Support in 2016

Within the last 12 hours, a plethora of (rumored) information about the Nintendo NX and when it will be manufactured and released has rolled out onto some of our favorite gaming news websites. The sources, on which the articles were based, claim that the assembly of the Nintendo NX could start as early as October of this year, and that you can expect a release by July 2016.

But on to what the title says: the 3DS and Wii U won't lose their support upon the release of the NX, which would have been a cheap and disappointing move, in my opinion. Nintendo believes that ending support for the 3DS and Wii U would be inefficient after launching the NX because "there already will be a certain volume of Nintendo 3DS and Wii U hardware widely existing in the market..."

Nintendo is also encouraging developers of the first, second, and third parties to keep producing games for the 3DS and Wii U. This is good because you would not want to miss those 3DS and/or Wii U exclusive titles that you really want to play.

What do you think: would you be disappointed if Nintendo abandoned the 3DS and Wii U?
