As amazing a system the 3DS is, we all should be well aware that a replacement is coming (eventually, not immediately). That being said, look to the future, people! What would you like to see on the next Nintendo handheld? My wishlist:

*720p or better screens, which shouldn't be an issue as it's affordable now, and would likely be dirt cheap by the time the replacement is ready for the final stages of development.

*3D. At this point, it pretty much goes without saying, but the 3D feature is a keeper.

*A proper second joystick. Please.

*At least one (preferably two) gigabytes of RAM, and at least half a gigabyte of dedicated VRAM.

*Better placement of rear shoulder buttons.

*Some sort of system memory, like 8 or 32 GB, like the Wii U has.

*Better camera resolution. Not necessarily 4k resolution, but at least 5 megapixels would be nice.

*Partner with someone to do a music download service (like iTunes), and allow music to be played over software (I heard the 3DS is capable of this feature as-is, but I haven't seen any software use it).

*A Nintendo Network paid Internet subscription option, allowing people to pay $20 a month via the eShop to activate a 3 or 4G signal within the device for unlimited high-speed Internet, perfect, of course, for online gaming, Web browsing, and MiiVerse.

*A real achievement system.

Well, that's all I can think of. What would you like to see in the next-gen Nintendo handheld?

I think it should be basically a Vita with two screens, only more powerful (because by the time the successor of the 3DS comes out, it should be like 2017 or 2018 and by then I'd be surprised and pissed if Nintendo didn't give us some hardware better than the vita)

I honestly like PlayStation systems better, so something like that may be nice. I still want a clamshell though.

I doubt it. Even the Wii U has it's own sort of dual-screen function.

Nintendo did said that they're working on a handheld that's completely different from the DS. They've actually said that they're moving away the dual screen mechanic and bring a new way to play. (Maybe a GameBoy 2.0!?)

But on topic, I would really love to see more online improvements.

-Nintendo Network should be fully implemented to the system and software, not just linked to an account.

-Have multiple linked systems.

-If gonna have the same software as its console relative, please be a cross buy.

-Should be able to friend anyone who has a NNID, regardless not having a console or handheld.

Yeah, pretty much it. Most of these features are already on PSN, which I find it much more useful than NN.

Just don't make us gamers in North America only have the choice of an XL system. They're way too big for me to use on the go. Hence why I think Nintendo messed up with the New 3DS.

Something like the Vita but Nintendo and improved (Full HD as opposed to qHD) would be freaking amazing.
