Hello. Today I will be posting about the free indie game called "Spooky's House of Jumpscares" (as stated in the title), and tips and tricks, as well as how-to play, and information about the enemies and items you may come across in the game.

FIRST THING: Where do I download it from?
The most obvious answer is Steam[/link], the other option (in which you decided "No, my non-Lord Gaben, my wallet is mine and I don't want to be enslaved by some corporate HL3 bullcrap!" ) is from the website [link=http://www.indiedb.com/games/spookys-house-of-jump-scares]IndieDB, which also has crap tons of other games and is like..Steam, but without..triple A crap, and stuff..yay?
Anywho, the IndieDB download will give you a zip file, the Steam version will give you the game files AND a neat little button that lets you play the game whenever you so choose to.

NUMBER TWO: "Jumpscares? lolno."
Yes, I know that the word "Jumpscares" or the words "Jump Scares" are in the title and that tries to make it sound like some corny-assed Slender take-piss with jumpscares around every corner, and well..it is exactly that and it isn't. Spooky's House of Jumpscares likes to take the piss out of the horror genre, as well as show off a damned good attempt at jumpscaring in a stupidly funny way, and it likes its timing. As well as this, it likes to build up tension, and then kills the feeling with it's cartoony sense of humor and ridiculous textured stuff.

NUMBER THREE:Info that you'll need to know before you play the game!
First thing: If you're too much of a..scared child, then the easiest way to play it is with volume off and you can either..
-Turn off the game
-Run through the game with ONLY looking backwards at 95% of the time
-Run through the game with ONLY looking at the floor 75% of the time
Or you can take on the brunt and run through everything.
The second thing: If you have a potato, there's a chance that your computer can run it, as the minimum specs (according to the steam page) are:
OS: Windows Vista
Processor: Intel Core i3 1.3 GHz (ACTUAL model of Intel Core i3 isn't specified, but I guess if you have a proccessor that has higher than 1.3 GHz or even more than two cores, you'll be flying.)
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Hard Drive: 300 MB available space (Game isn't big, it's exactly 245.2M
The third thing: Headphones are recommended. There is a certain aspect to the game that requires earphones/headphones (see below) to advance. And Headphones are cool. .3.

NUMBER FOUR :Characters that you should give a damned about!
These are basically the game's enemies, the ones that you should actually care about.
Specimen 1 show

Specimen 1, or rather, the first enemy, are harmless (although their CAT-DOS record suggests that four people have died of a heart attack.) and are a part of the game's humor. There are several renditions of this enemy, being pictures of: The Slime (above), The Skeleton, The Tree Stump, The Pumpkin, The Ghost, The Purple Slime, The Spider and lastly, The Corrupted Slime. Specimen 1 is a frequent enemy throughout the game, and as the levels are randomly ordered and enemy spawns are jumbled around, also meaning that this enemy can appear in areas of rooms you wouldn't expect.
Important Info:
These things are common in corridors, so I would be wary.
Only specimen that could be validly seen within the first 50 rooms.

Specimen 2 show

Specimen 2, the second enemy, are quite the opposite to Specimen 1, being reminiscent of the Slime design and twisting it into a creepy way. Specimen 2's CAT-DOS record details that his method of killing involves "Physical Tearing", and his kill count is 137. This enemy has only one rendition/sprite and it has abilities which involve: Phasing through walls/hovering through and over gaps the player cannot go, and summoning green puddles to slow down the chase between player and Specimen. Specimen 2 is first encountered in EXACTLY Room 60; the player cannot leave that room WITHOUT reading the note left by the Specimen and practically summoning it. From there it becomes a chase.
Important Info:
Sprint. Keep an eye on where he is, and how far away, you REALLY want to put some distance between you and it.

Specimen 3 show

Specimen 3, the third enemy, are similar to Specimen 2 other than that it CANNOT phase through walls, and it crawls against the floor. However, it is still as deadly as Specimen 2 and according to CAT-DOS it kills via "Infectious Bites" and has a kill count of 43. It can also make holes in the ceiling, in which it can appear out of and use it as if it were an easy-access to the player. It is about the same speed as Specimen 2, so the important info stated earlier applies here. It also gives off a clicking sound (like a Predator, kinda..) and it first appears at Room 120, after reading a note.

Specimen 4 show

Specimen 4, the fourth enemy, is first encountered in Room 166, which happens to look somewhat like a japanese school that was abandoned (Game took inspiration for this design aspect from Corpse Party), and is somewhat similar to Specimen 2, however there is no visible or audible sign that shows whether Specimen 4 is following you or not. It also does not spawn puddles that slow the player down, meaning that you can run. However, her speed is faster than Specimen 2's, making her faster. According to CAT-DOS, she kills people by "Consuming" them, and her kill count is 85. Her death screen is basically a representation of her consuming method, the caption being "Hush now my child, you're safe now". It will also display a picture of her holding a larger version of her stomach area with her hands on her stomach in the background. spencerwouldlikethisifitwereapony

Specimen 5 show

Specimen 5, the fifth enemy, is first encountered in Room 210. Nothing is known much about this Specimen, other than player documented information, even on CAT-DOS.
Important Info:
Does 60 damage on every swing, yet is VERY SLOW. Maintain distance.
It causes hallucinations (changes textures), inwhich it may make it harder to traverse through a room. Try to get through as many rooms as you can while maintaining distance.

THIS GUIDE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. IT WILL BE UPDATED OVER TIME, ESPECIALLY WHEN EXTRA CONTENT IS RELEASED.
