The terrible end to The Saddest Love Story Ever.
Who else thought this would be some preteen whining about rejection?
BrandonCP (2014-08-29 23:57:50)Excuse me? This is a true story... I'm not whining about rejection. I have never been rejected, before, because I don't ask for acceptation.
ilovestorm100 (2014-08-30 00:37:57)Wow... That's amazing... Is it actually true?

BrandonCP (2014-08-30 03:19:21)No, it was much after 69. 69 was when my dad was drafted into the military. They tried having children in about 98.
I think you misread my comment. I'm rreferring to the people who post threads about how "hard" their life is.
carlos11 (2014-08-31 04:53:38)Assuming that your dad was around 18 in the winter of '69, when he was drafted, how in the HELL was your mother "very fertile" 30 years later, being almost 50?

carlos11 (2014-08-31 18:54:59)Do you know how dangerous it is to become pregnant after 40? You could've died.

BrandonCP (2014-08-31 20:35:49)I know. Kids was always in their plan. And sorry, I mean *some women lose fertility at 62 or 63. Average, is early 40s, to mid fifties.
BirdJesus (2014-09-01 20:29:08)You should write a novel based on this. I'd read it.

When my dad was 16, he met a petite woman of an equal age, by the name of Emily. She was everything a man could ever seek in a woman. Funny, happy, smart, friendly, beautiful, etc. When my dad was in his Junior year of high school, she came down with an unknown illness. At the time, nobody had any idea what happened. Nobody was there at the hospital with her, except for my dad. But, when they were both seventeen years old, a miracle happened. The illness, was diagnosed as leukemia. They gave her treatment, and in that year, she was more or less ridden of the disease. They were not dating, and in her eyes, they were barely friends. In my dad's mind, she was the most amazing girl that he's ever seen. Eventually, the prom was coming up. The prom at their high school was open to Juniors, and Seniors. He asked her, and she declined. He didn't get over it, but at this point, they were very close, and so he didn't get angry, or miserable. He just kept a neutral state of mind. During the summer before their Senior year, Emily took up painting as a hobby, unwittingly that my dad's favorite hobby was painting. At this point, they realized that they were made for each other. They dated, but took it slow. They dated for the entire year, up until prom, when she accepted that they would go to prom together. High school had just ended, and they were choosing colleges. When suddenly, the U.S. draft called my dad to the air force. My dad was definitely enough man to do that, but they both were not ready for that. They had fallen in love, and were planning a future together. The legal consequences were more than they could handle. They now lived together, and shared property. My dad went of to the air force. He didn't come back for nineteen years. When he came back, he had seen Emily still waiting there, for him. They were together for eleven more years after that. They decided to have children. They were already married, in the winter of 69'. They tried having children for a long time, when they finally decided to have each of them checked out. My mother was extremely fertile, whereas my dad, was not. He was broken by the news. After a while, he was finally ready to consider having a sperm donor. He didn't want some random guy to be his son's father. He thought about who would be the donor. He thought good and hard, and figured out that the best option would be to find a deceased person father his child. So, they did just that, and it was not a cheap process. But she got pregnant, with yours truly. I was born, a healthy child. Things were great for about 2 years. My mother's leukemia had returned, in a very new violent form. My mother died not 2 months after diagnosis. My dad was left with raising me, on his own. He's been doing it for 11 years. I am now 14 years old, and my dad has, in the last few months, been diagnosed with lymphoma. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep him around for a while. And that is the story of how my dad met my mother. I hope you all enjoyed, and felt something. Have a great day, and god bless.
