Sony world wide president, Shuhei Yoshida admits that he doesn't understand why the PS4 is popular. This is what he said:
"I for one am a bit nervous because we do not completely understand what’s happening. You need to understand why your products are selling well so you can plan for the future, right? It defied the conventional thinking. Lots of people thought the dedicated game hardware might not be needed going forward, but still lots of people are very excited."

Do you agree with him? If not, then leave some reasons in the comments!

It's because everyone wants to join the bandwagon.

What a brilliant man he is. His insight will surely bring great fortune to his company's gaming division.

1. Because it's awesome
2. Because of how badly MS screwed up the One (At first)
3. A good number people were ready for new systems in 2011, so there was a lot of built up demand (Which is why X1 is doing good also)

You had the whole "no used games, always online" debacle" which Sony demolished them with E3 2013. Seriously, the crowd was screaming when they said "PS4 supports used games." Not to mention $400 vs $500 (Again, at first) and with the PS4 having better specs to boot.

MS is trying hard but the damage was done and I see this being a PS1/PS2 repeat. 10 million in less than a year is insane.
