You can NOT compare a simple first person shooter (Call of Duty) to an advanced military simulator (Arma 3).
As each game has their own pros and cons,
Call of Duty and the Arma franchise are TWO completely different games, which don't tie into each other.

Call of Duty
Pros:
Simple, easy to play.
Okay gameplay.
Moderately unrealistic

Cons:
Repetitive line-up of games.
5-year-old kids in MP
Ridiculously OP guns
Small maps
Killstreaks (come on, we all know that they just make everyone cannon fodder)

Arma 3
------------
Pros:
VEHICLES.
Large amount of guns
Awesome graphics
Large amount of servers
Large map/islands (pro and a con tbh)
Proper mod support.

Cons:
Large map/islands
Some vehicles are just re-textures
Requires a moderate/brilliant PC to run
Requires FRIENDS, otherwise it gets boring
Some mods break your game easily
Co-ordinating attacks with people is confusing unless all in one chat together (we all know teamspeak is horrible with 6+ people)
Realistic
Nodes only run on one PC core or something

So there you go.

I've never heard of Arma3, but as FluxerCry said, could be much better than CoD. If CoD was never made, I wonder how the community would react.
