HOW TO SOFTMOD ANY 4.3 WII!
Bean (2014-04-08 13:20:30)Interesting. Will this work on ANY Wii?
Oh, and is it perfectly legal?
~~~
(.~Ab~.) (2014-04-08 14:57:22)^ This will work on any Wii with 4.3. Look in Wii Options > Wii Settings. Look in top right corner, you'll see your version. If you have something lower than 4.3, go and update.
As for legalness, yes,. it is legal, but it voids your warranty. it's illegal to install free games and put them on a USB drive for USB Loaders. I haven't covered that, though. Malicious WADs could also be illegal, and that's about it.
Oh, another thing: Never install cIOSCORP or DARKCORP. It's supposed to be for pirating games. And, it patches all your IOSes (things your Wii uses for apps and games) and turns then into cIOSes (custom IOSes). Not only is it illegal, it's dangerous (and also malicious).
3dMan10 (2014-04-08 22:01:32)I just realised I dont have SSBB ._.
Don't break the rules, its bad, trust me I've been banned like 10 times and one of them bans was on my first day.
Draazen (2014-04-09 18:31:38)Yea,because this isnt illegal. This should be closed. Not that cops would give a damn about this.
(.~Ab~.) (2014-04-10 09:00:24)^ Are you saying that this thread should be closed because it's perfectly legal?
3dMan10 (2014-04-10 18:50:52)I just realised I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO HACK THANK YOU
._.
Don't break the rules, its bad, trust me I've been banned like 10 times and one of them bans was on my first day.
Draazen (2014-04-11 01:55:39)WRONG! To hack or MOD ANYTHING is illegal... Your basicly stealing games.
SackThing101 (2014-04-11 05:33:16)Is it illegal for me that my dad's friend downloaded a few Wii games (200+), a few NES games (300+) and a few SNES games (250+) on USB loader and gave it to me?
(.~Ab~.) (2014-04-11 08:44:09)To hack or mod is not illegal, you idiot. It might void your warranty. BUT IT IS NOT ILLEGAL UNLESS YOU PIRATE GAMES! If you don't know how to softmod, gtfo. -Draazen
If you didn't have the games originally, downloading games on USBs are illegal. -Sacky
SackThing101 (2014-04-11 16:57:41)^ Well, technically I didn't download the games. My dad's friend did. So does that mean it's not illegal for me?
I play games I own on disks anyways.
OK, I'm probably gonna get a lot of hate on this.
HAYO! I present to you.. me! So, here I am, writing my updated softmod guide.
Note: I will not be covering USB Loaders in this guide.
Note2: MAKE SURE you have 4.3, or this will not work!!
Note3: I will not be covering BootMii/boot2, so some instructions in this guide may be irrevelant if you are able to install BootMii/boot2.
You Will Need:
A 4.3 Wii that is able to connect to the internet.
Something that can read SD cards and transfer files to and from. (like a computer or an android tablet)
An SD(HC) card that is AT LEAST 2 GB, as my hack pack will need to be put on the SD, and the hack pack is 1.2GB! (mini and microSD cards can be used as long as you have an adaptor.)
Common sense.
PART 1 - INSTALLING THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL AND BOOTMII
1 - On your Wii go to Wii Options (the Wii button on the bottom left).
2 - Hit Settings. Now verify your version at the top right. If it says 4.3, great. If it doesn't, either get out of here or update your Wii. Also, take note of the letter after 4.3. (for example, my version is 4.3E.)
3 - Go to Internet, then Console Information. Take note of your MAC Address. (just a heads up, you don't want anyone you don't know to know your MAC Address.)
4 - On your computer (or whatever you are using) go to [LINK]http://please.hackmii.com[/LINK].
You should be on a page like this:
Choose your version.
Type your MAC Address in.
Make sure Bundle The HackMii Installer! is ticked.
Type the word in the picture.
Cut the blue wire or cut the red wire.
5 - A file called Letterbomb.zip should be downloading. Once it's downloaded, open it (assuming you have a zip/rar archiver).
6 - Insert your SD card.
7 - Copy the "private" folder and the "boot.elf" file to your SD card.
8 - Safely eject the SD card from your device.
9 - Insert the SD card to your Wii and head to the Wii Message Board (the mail button on the bottom right of your Wii Menu).
10 - Scroll left until you see a red letter with a bomb on it. It should be on yesterday, but if it isn't, keep scrolling.
11 - Click it!
12 - This should pop up:
13 - Wait a little while.
14 - When prompted to press 1, go ahead and press 1.
15 - This should pop up:
The Homebrew Channel should show 'Can be installed'. If it doesn't, you're screwed.
BootMii should show either 'Can be installed' or 'Can only be installed as an IOS'.
16 - Press A. Now, navigate using the arrow buttons. Navigate to 'Install the Homebrew Channel.' Hit A on that, then navigate to Yes, and click A. After that, it should install. Hit A after it's installed.
17 - Now for BootMii. If you can only install BootMii as an IOS, don't bother installing it; it's pointless. However, if you can install BootMii as boot2, go ahead and install it. For more information on BootMii, head to [LINK]http://wiibrew.org/BootMii[/LINK]. If you can install BootMii/boot2, search up a guide for using BootMii as boot2; this thread will not have anything about BootMii/boot2.
18 - Exit the HackMii Installer.
19 - It will bring you to the Homebrew Channel.
20 - Hit Home, then click System Menu.
PART 2 - INSTALLING PRIILOADER AND MORE STUFF
1 - Head to [LINK]http://is.gd/hackpack[/LINK].
2 - Click download. It will take long to download, so be patient!
3 - Open the zip file. If there is folder called '466's Hack Pack', open it. Copy everything to your SD card. Let everything merge and overwrite. It will take long, because it's 1.2GB, remember!
4 - Once it's done, eject your SD card and insert it to your Wii.
5 - Go to The Homebrew Channel. If your apps appear in a grid, press 2.
6 - Navigate to Priiloader. Hit it, and click Load.
7 - Priiloader is safe if you have the slightest iota of common sense.
8 - This should pop up:
9 - Press +.
10 - Priiloader will install. Don't worry about any warnings, that's normal.
11 - It should return to the Homebrew Channel in a few seconds.
12 - Click Home and then click Shutdown.
13 - Now click the power button on your Wii, while holding down reset.
14 - A white screen should pop up:
15 - Navigate all the way to settings. Make sure Autoboot and Return To are set to System Menu. However, you can change it to something else if you want. Also, you can make the Priiloader background black.
16 - Now save your settings and press B. Navigate to System Menu Hacks. Messing around with this can brick your Wii, so I highly recommend that you ONLY enable these hacks:
Region Free EVERYTHING
IMPORTANT! Block Online Updates
IMPORTANT! Block Disc Updates
Region Free GC Games (No VM Patch)
Region Free Wii Games
SEMI-IMPORTANT! Region Free Channels
Move Disc Channel
17 - Save your settings, hit B, then go to System Menu.
18 - Oops, I forgot to put something in my hack pack! Right, go to [LINK]http://wiimc.org/downloads[/LINK] and click WiiMC Channel Installer 2.0. Once it downloads, extract the zip to WiiMC Channel Installer 2.0. Open the newly created folder. Then open apps, and copy the wiimc-channel-installer to your apps folder on your SD card. Ok, we should be good.
19 - Eject the SD card, put it in your Wii.
20 - Okay, so now open WiiMC Channel Installer. Click Install. Return to Homebrew Channel.
21 - Now, if you have New Super Mario Bros Wii, follow these instructions. If you don't, skip this step. Open Riivolution and click Install. Then click Exit. (more about this much later)
22 - Skip this step if you don't have Mario Kart Wii! Insert your Mario Kart Wii disc and launch CTGP-R. Wait for it to load up, then click Add Channel. (more about this much later) You might need an update before you can Add the channel, but you can ignore it for the meantime.
23 - Now Exit and open YAWMM.
24 - Press A.
25 - You might get a message saying that HW_AHBPROT is disabled. Just press A. Then, you will be asked what IOS to use. Press the left arrow on your wiimote until it says IOS58. Then press A. And THEN, it'll ask you what device you are using. Pick SD card. Now navigate to the wad folder. Then install the .wad files by pressing A on them and pressing A again. (note: if you do not have a 4.3E Wii, you MUST have region free channels enabled on Priiloader, or you can brick your Wii. If you bricked your Wii, then launch Priiloader, go to Launch Title, and go to Homebrew Channel. Launch YAWMM, then uninstall the WAD that caused the brick.)
26 - Exit out of YAWMM and Exit to system menu. You'll notice that you have a lot more channels. (WiiMC, Riivolution (?), CTGP Revolution (?), WiiEarth, WiiXplorer, Super Mario War Wii, and World of Goo)
PART 3 - EN-JOY!
Your Wii is softmodded now! The only thing missing is custom themes (which are highly dangerous, so don't install them without brick protection. Even then, it still isn't a good idea to install themes.). So, about Riivolution and CTGP Revolution.
RIIVOLUTION
Allows you to play Newer Super Mario Bros Wii, an awesome unofficial sequel to New Super Mario Bros Wii! Riivolution's site is at [LINK]http://rvlution.net[/LINK] and the Newer Team's (newer super mario bros wii creators) site is at [LINK]http://newerteam.com[/LINK]. This is pointless if you don't have the original New Super Mario Bros Wii disc!
CTGP REVOLUTION (CTGP-R)
This adds something like 217 custom tracks to Mario Kart Wii. Freaking Awesome! ChadSoft's (ctgp revolution team) site is at [LINK]http://chadsoft.co.uk[/LINK]!
THE END
The End! I hope you enjoyed my softmodding tutorial! Err.. (whatever you say when you end something) Oh yeah, bye.
Okay, so that has been my softmodding tutorial. However, I didn't just post this here. Earlier, I posted it on Se7enSins. See the original post (that is owned by me) here: http://is.gd/softmodwii
