Winter
Snowflakes fall like ash
Blanketing the dying ground
As the wind whistles

Fall
Red leaves fall, serene
Upon the sweet-smelling dirt
Seedlings sprout, hopeful


Spring
Summer is not far
Rain graces the hungry land
Fields of flowers bloom

The sun peeks from clouds
Cautiously creeping from spring
It shines bright and full

Why not have a few happy poems for a change? All I see are poems about death and depression and sadness, when there are so many happier topics to write on.
This particular set of poems are haiku poems, a Japanese form of poetry. Haikus do not have to rhyme and they're pretty fun to write. The order goes:
Five, seven, then five,
syllables mark a haiku.
Remarkable oaf.

See, there's a haiku about how to write a haiku. I didn't write this one, though. The syllable pattern goes five on the first verse, seven on the second, then five again on the third.
Give it a try and write something happy!
