They don't even know you,
All they see is scars.
They don't see the angel,
Living in your heart.
Let them find the real you,
Buried deep within.
Let them know with all you've got,
That you are not your skin.
All they see is scars.
They don't see the angel,
Living in your heart.
Let them find the real you,
Buried deep within.
Let them know with all you've got,
That you are not your skin.

[poetry on the mind]
The busy watching crowd just leaves her. They do not notice her pain.
They do not see her there. They don't see her tears in the rain.
They can't hear her silent screams. They wouldn't want to. It's their dream.
They don't care about those like her. They ignore, and crush, and burn.
They don't provide counsel for her aching mind, No notice to soothe her soul.
No thoughts to save her broken heart. No blanket to keep away her cold.
They walk on, unnoticing, uncaring, unrelenting in their ignorance.
And she
(can't get up)
Cries out for them to help her.
They do not hear.
She
(Can't wake up)
Touches and she pulls them.
They ignore her fear.
She
(Can't live anymore)
Speaks in their ears, calls to them, screams for them!
They do not come.
And now she
(Can't sleep)
cannot escape.
Her dream.
Nightmare.
Her friend.
Doesn't care.
Her parents.
Left her.
And she's
(Shaking.)
Alone.
And she's
(Crying)
dying.
And
she
can't
get
up.
