The End, or the Beginning of the End?

I rolled over in my bed, my arm stretched out and on top of my cat.
My stomach started to growl.
I stretched half awake, and turned to look at the time.
It was one o'clock, normal time for me to wake up.
My stomach growled again, begging me to find something to munch on.
I reluctantly pulled my blanket off of me, and stumbled out the door of my room, my two cats in tow.
My mom wasn't on her laptop like she usually is at this time. My brother wasn't up, either.
I looked out the window, and my mom's car was still there.
"Huh...," I whispered. "Must be sleeping in late?" What was supposed to be a statement, ended as a question. I found I did not believe what I was telling myself.
My expression was like I didn't understand a word. I didn't understand how both of them could be sleeping in so late.
I shrugged the bothersome questions away, and fished through the pantry.
I sighed, "nothing in the house like usual." I shut the pantry door, and found some cookies to hold me over.
I walked to our couch that was the most comfortable, and propped my feet up.
I was getting ready to turn on the tv, and play the Wii, when I realized something else.
It was quiet outside, and that is unusual for this apartment complex.
I stopped eating my cookie mid-chew, and got up to look out the window.
I was puzzled, and called out, "Mom!?"
No one answered, so I called out my brother's name.
"Brandon?" No one answered again, but I thought that was because they were asleep.
I bit my lip, knowing I'm not dumb enough to fool myself.
I walked to my brother's room's door, and stood there for a few seconds. Trying to hear if he was playing on his Xbox.
I didn't hear anything, and started to open his bedroom door.
When I could see through the door, I saw that his bed was empty.
Confusion washed over me. He never goes outside, and if he was anywhere else, he'd be with Mom, and her car was still in the same parking spot it always was.
A sense of abandonment teased me.
They were thinking of a plan to leave you for awhile now. And that plan has finally gone into action.
But then I remembered the quiet apartments.
"MOM!?" I shouted louder than I did before, thinking surely she should have heard that.
I ran to her bedroom door, and flew in through the doorway.
My mom's bed was empty.
Panic hit me with a hard blow.
I started to think of all the stories of 'The End' and remembered my family said it was just a load of hokum. But I wasn't so sure anymore.
I decided to stand on the balcony and listen for cars on the streets. It was always noisy by now.
I rushed to the door that always jams when you try to open it quickly, and burst outside.
A cold chill ran up my spine, and I couldn't quite remember how to breathe.
The streets were quiet; not one engine could be heard.
Our balcony was facing a tree and other apartment complexes, not the road, so I told myself to calm down and see for sure.
I opened the front door, and gazed outside, then started to walk down the stairs, still a little shakey from what had happened just seconds before.
My eyes wide, I walked down the path that leads to the road.
I was terrified to see the truth, but I knew I would have to sooner or later.
I was staring at the ground when I reached the edge, fighting the urge to look. I didn't hear any cars, and I knew what the answer would be, but I still didn't want to look.
With shallow breaths, I looked up.
My knees buckled under me as I saw what I saw.
Cars were stopped throughout the whole street. Some still turning, and some just going straight.
Horror shot through me of the thought that I was all alone, and I wouldn't live very long.
Who knew what other people still remained. But then again, maybe no one remained.
A foreign feeling after having so many upsetting ones, excitement washed over me.
I was finally alone. I could do what I wanted, when I wanted, and nothing could stop me.
At that thought, I felt myself beaming.

{It's really late, or should I say early? :/ I always choose to write my stories late at night... Anyways, I'm really hungry, and tired, so I'll work on the story later. Hope you liked it so far. ._.}

I sat there for awhile, trying to think of what to do now.
I knew I would need food, obviously, and there wasn't much in the house. I knew I wasn't going to walk to the store, that would take much too long, even though it was less than a mile away.
I remembered my bike was in my dad's apartment. But his apartment was bound to be locked, and he might not be there either.
"I'll have to break in. Yay," I said with no enthusiasm.
I'd have to break his window, but I don't have a bat, or anything.
I thought for a moment, "Well, I have a light saber."
I got up and ran to my house, bursting in through the door.
I remembered I forgot to feed the cats, and quickly did so.
I ran to my room, pushing my door open, as my room was quite messy, and looked for my key to the house.
I grabbed my backpack, key, lightsaber, some rags, and my shoes.
I thrust on my shoes, as they were already tied, slung my backpack over my shoulder with the rags, lightsaber, and key inside, and ran out the door.
Locking the door behind me, I felt very free. I had dreamed of something like this, and now it was like a dream come true.
I rushed down the stairs once more, and ran to my dad's complex.
I didn't want to waste time, as it would take a while in the store. I would raid the whole store, if I could. But I only had one backpack at the moment, and didn't feel like having a heavy load.
I reached the complex, and stopped at my dad's window.
Good thing he lives on the bottom one.
I reached for the lightsaber, and pulled it out, grabbing the top of it, so the hard bottom was pointing out towards the window.
I rested it across my shoulder like I was going to play baseball, and swung hard at the window.
It only broke a little, definitely not enough for me to get through.
I kept pounding the window with the lightsaber until it was all gone.
I took out the four rags, two for each hand, so little pieces of glass still on the bottom didn't stick into my hands.
I placed the rags on the windowpane, and then placed my hands on top, and pushed up, swinging my legs over and into the house.
I smiled proudly at being able to do this. It wasn't much, but I was still proud.
I unlocked my dad's door and opened it so my bike could get through.
I went to the room with my bike, and inched it out. I grabbed my helmet just in case.
When I got it out of the house, I closed the door, and hopped on my bike. I fastened my helmet on, and rode away.
"To the store now."
Normally, I would do whatever I could to not go to the store because it was boring, but now I thought it was an adventure.
I knew eventually I would get tired of whatever schedule I was going to give myself, so I decided I would break in to other people's houses, raid them, and decide if I wanted to stay for a little while.
This could be dangerous if the owner's had a dog, or something, unless it was nice.
I'd listen for barks, I guess.
I thought of my new life as I rode down to the store. It didn't seem as exciting as it did before, but it was still exciting nevertheless.
Then I started thinking of faster transportation. I was thinking of teaching myself how to drive.
If I ever needed help, I could always go on Google, too.
Thank goodness the internet is still available.
Being only 13, and not knowing much of how to cook or anything, the internet was going to come in handy.
"I'll just get frozen meals for now, just until I find a good recipe," I was thinking about eating meat, mashed potatoes, green beans, when a normal kid would be thinking about eating candy and sweets for every meal.
I would do that, but since there are no doctors, I didn't want to risk getting a heart attack, or something.
I reached the store, and my stomach started to growl again, I would just eat some chips while I was in there.
I hopped off my bike, bringing it in the store with me, and leaning it against the wall.
I felt the urge to shout, to scream whatever I wanted.
"WOOO!" I shouted, starting to laugh. That made me think about insanity. If I would eventually go crazy from not talking to anyone. I shrugged it off, and started to go to the frozen foods section, grabbing a bag of chips on the way.

{I'm still hungry, and I can't think when I'm hungry. But I'll add more soon. :3}

Very intriguing. I'm hoping it turns out better than I'm presuming.
It's time for review, kiddo!

I grabbed some corn dogs and breakfast sandwiches, and left the frozen foods to get a Lunchable.
I was nearing the lunch meat area, when I saw the Employees Only door was partially opened.
I decided to investigate.
I pushed the door open just enough to get through, and neared a table.
I peered over the table, and stopped dead.
A pool of blood laid on the floor beside the table.
I felt completely cold. I had shouted a few minutes before, and now I see blood.
I started to panic, thinking someone was in the store, or at least had been there seconds before.
I knelt down to feel how warm the blood was. Maybe if I felt how warm or cold it was, I would know if it's been there long.
It was still warm, leaning towards cold, but because of the all the refrigerators, the blood would have cooled quickly, which it wasn't even cold.
I stood up, only able to stare at the red puddle at my feet.
When I started to think straight again, I sneaked out the door.
I quietly ran to my bike, shoving it out the automatic doors.
Still running, I hopped on my bike and stumbled a bit. I rode as fast as a could, now afraid that someone did remain here, and it definitely wasn't anyone good.

When I got home, I tried to make as little sound as possible, and shut off all the lights. Whatever will keep me safe, I'll do that.
I slept with a knife beside me on my nightstand, but I wouldn't call it sleeping.
I lay awake, with my eyes closed, but my ears were straining at every sound. I knew I was being paranoid, but I couldn't help it.
If I was left on Earth with a crazy person, who knows what they'll do to me if they see me.
I'll start to try to learn how to drive tomorrow, and leave the house next week.
I sighed and finally drifted off to sleep.

I woke at 6, and popped a breakfast sandwich in the microwave.
I stood on the balcony for some fresh air, our A/C wasn't working as usual.
I ate my meal in silence, wondering if learning to drive will take all day.
I fed the cats, and grabbed my mom's keys from her purse.
I left to go to the parking lot slowly, still tired from a sleepless night.
I clicked the button on the keys to unlock the car, and jumped in.
I decided to familiarize myself with all the buttons, pedals, and things.
I pulled out my mom's phone and went to the internet just in case.
I searched what the brake pedal was, and what was the gas one.
I took a deep breath and put the keys in, turning the engine on.
My mom drove a black Nissan van, and would constantly need to be taken to the shop.
I pressed the pedal that put the car in reverse, and backed out.
That's not too hard... I thought. But then again, that was just backing out.

{Like I said in the other posts, I'll add more later. Please keep reading. ;-;}
