The night of June 12, 1888, 10 people were reported dead. The same day in 1999, 100 were reported dead. I decided to see who has been killing people since 1888.

I asked scientist John Tompson about it. "Well, Epic," Tompson said, "Legend says since 1888 a person called Slenderman has been killing people. We are not sure if the legend is true." I thank him and ask, "Where could I look for him?" He says, "Go to the forest down a few miles from here. It's the closest forest to us. They call it 'Slender Forest'."

I take his advice and go there. My friends are far away, taking a vacation in South America. Most of my family is in Italy, but my older sister, Chiane, is still in North America. I ask her to come with me. She refuses the request. "Mom will kill me for going in the forest!" she says. But I don't listen. I get camping stuff and set up a camp. I wait for sightings of Slenderman...
