TheIronMadden(2015-06-26 02:58:42)Well in my opinion, these are my things regarding gaming that I didn't face as a child:
Preorders
Now preorders aren't the absolute worst thing as some people say, but certain preorder practices are pretty bad. The concept of getting something like an exclusive poster, a soundtrack, or a figure/statue/plush on a rare occasion is a neat trinket to have. I think the bigger problem with preorders are having locked in-game content that you can only get with preordering. This includes things such as weapons, skins, additional costumes, but can even extend out to maps, characters, game modes, and even parts of a game's campaign mode being locked behind preorders.
Rising Prices in Retro Games
The prices for most games on NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, N64, and even GameCube weren't that bad about 3-5 years ago. Now the prices for a vast majority of the good titles are absurd to buy. This is especially true for NES and N64 games, with titles such as Mega Man on NES reaching $68, and Conker's Bad Fur Day for N64 reaching $80, both which are ONLY the cartridges. No box, no booklet, just the plastic that encases the circuit boards consisting of the computer chips containing the game's coding.
It wasn't until 2010 when Conker went for above $30 from resellers. Mega Man spiked at $118 in 2012, but dropped back down to about $30. However, the price is climbing again since retro gaming has become more popular recently.
Can't think of a third one actually. XP
You won't see me here, but you might find me if you look in the right places.
