Having a strategy doesn't constitute depth. That's as simple as rock-paper-scissors.

The game isn't rock-paper-scissors though. Turf War favors both defensive and offensive play. You could spend all your time covering ground and still contribute just as much as the guys holding the enemies back. This allows players of different skill levels and preferences to have fun together without someone becoming a liability. That's a very impressive feat.
