All games are produced in the same way.
The only thing that could explain such errors would be a physical manufacturing error on the disc, and that kind of error wouldn't just specifically mess up the character's programming. This whole incident is set up like a creepy pasta, it just isn't plausible for those errors to exist and the rest of the game to be fine.

He has denied hacking the game, but it could have been due to that. You can't do that in SSB4's drawing mode.
