It is very possible that der gross mann uses something like a perception filter to do this.

Buried Alive is myth. I tried it on Red and it didn't work.
Syndrome is part-myth. Listening to it gives me the creeps and I sometimes get headaches, but no suicidal actions.
Ghost is real. He appears in the Pokémon Tower, but he dosen't know any moves, not even Curse.
As a thing to keep my research going, I will host The Lavender Town Project. Stay tuned.
