The Wii U version contains better stages, along with the addition of Amiibos. (The 3DS version has to wait until 2015.)

^3DS will also have Amiibos, but not in the near future.

And Wii U stages looks simple. Most 3DS stages are interactive.

â†‘ Yep! And on the 3DS ver. there is the Smash Run, and there is all the features and characters of the Wii U version. And, the Wii U ver. release date hasn't been announced yet.
