pikarceus (2016-01-23 00:15:35)Nintendo already censored a support conversation that could apparently be seen as homophobic or some crap. The west has become so pathetic in recent years, I commend publishers like XSEED who actually have stones. Seriously, all the offended people wouldn't buy the damn game anyway. I seriously hate our current culture, we've become a bunch of whiny-sissy man women. Everything's sexist, racist, or a phobia of something or triggering...you get the idea, I'm gonna stop ranting and go check my privilege.
BirdJesus (2016-01-23 10:35:01)Welcome to 2016, pikarceus.
The main game is pretty good, It just gets very repetitive and grindy once you reach postgame, as the only thing left to do is My Castle, which gets old pretty fast. I haven't tried online battles yet because I still need to recruit the children and build up the rest of my units.

Bean (2016-01-23 11:10:47)Great story? LOLNO
Revelations and Conquest have terrible stories.
Everything about this game makes me want to kill myself tbh. What did they do to this once great franchise?
Awakening was absolutely terrible, Fates is more insulting than DmC. I was going to buy it to experience how god damn awful it is first hand but I'm spending my money on something better. This franchise is dead to me.

BirdJesus (2016-01-25 05:23:28)You're missing out on one of the best Fire Emblem games in quite so time, Bean.

Crush42 (2016-01-25 17:55:44)I thought Awakening was good. It wasn't Sacred Stones, but it's not nearly as bad as most of the DS titles... or Fates. IDK why BJ is wasting so much energy trying to defend this pile of trash; even SMTxFE looks better than Fates, and it's a crossover game that looks almost nothing like a Fire Emblem game, spare some characters.

BirdJesus (2016-01-25 21:44:34)Is this a joke? Awakening is "Rout the Enemy: The Game" and has absolutely terrible map design. It's fun for a bit, but there is no real strategy, even on Lunatic. The DS titles are good, their biggest flaws are half the cast being useless and lolwarpstaves. Fates is a step up from Awakening in nearly every way, I have no idea how you can like Awakening and dislike Fates, unless you don't play Fire Emblem for the gameplay.

Bean (2016-01-29 20:13:20)Awakening is 2/10 but I can tolerate it more than Fates.
Fates waters down the gameplay more than Awakening did and the plot (of Conquest and Revelations atleast) is the most poorly written plot I've seen in a while. I don't see how it's any better.

That's only true for Birthright.

Nutsy (2016-02-05 04:40:25)When we firsy saw actual footage of of SMTxFE they pretty much said it's a SMT game. It plays like Persona. The weapon triangle is a simplified/always predictable alternative to Persona 3's strike, slash, and pierce attacks. I don't know how bows fit in SMTxFE, but I'm assuming they do more damage to flying enemies. I'm pretty sure SMT's four main elements are kept, but I'm not sure about darkness, light, and almighty.

Shane (2016-02-08 14:27:07)In the end of SMTxFE, one of the characters that has traveled with you, Itsuki, dies in the end. Marth revives him, and then becomes one with him. Then, they sing the Fire Emblem theme.

Some time back, I bought the Japanese copies of Fire Emblem If, and download a English fan translation hack for them. It took me a few weeks later to actually start playing the game because of school and things like that. After finally completing the game, I'll tell you my thoughts about it, up and down.
Main Game Info.
Fire Emblem If is a Nintendo 3DS game developed by Intelligent Systems. and is produced by Masahiro Higuchi and Hitoshi Yamagami. It is the 14th main game in the Fire Emblem series, and the second to be developed for Nintendo 3DS after Fire Emblem Awakening. Fates was reveleased in three versions with a different story line, Birthright and Conquest as physical releases, and Revelation as downloadable content. The player is drawn between the Kingdoms of Hoshido and Nohr. In Revelation, the Avatar rallies both sides against the true mastermind behind the war.
Ups
+Has a great story, is full with plenty of content.
+The DLC is beautiful. The sxtra maps that come as DLC brings more backstory to the characters. One DLC is the third path of the game, which I absolutely love the most.
+Amiibo. The Super Smash Bros 4. Amiibo unlocks the characters to recruit through maps. The current Amiibo are Lucina, Marth, Ike, Robin. Hopefully the Roy Amiibo that will be released March 18 will work with these games through a update.
+Waifus. Fire Emblem If has plenty of waifus to marry, Revelation has the most waifus as it has both the characters from Birthright and Conquest.
+Gay marriage. Nintendo actually did a favor for those who are gay and wanted to marry somebody of the same gender in Awakening. (FYI, there's a new rom hack on the GBATemp forums that adds same-sex marriage to Awakening)
Down.
-Three games!? (One as DLC) As seen Fire Emblem If has two physical games, Birthright and Conquest, and a third game path, Revelation as DLC. But why? The special edition has all three paths on one game cartridge. Why must the non-special edition by seperated?
-Whatever Nintendo will censor in North America. We all know what Nintendo does here in America, they censor a whole lot of stuff. Instead of rating the game as Mature, Nintendo keeps it Teen rated and removes dialogue that may seem "cringe worthy" in the states. Just the other day, we found out that Nintendo censored the gay marriage part of the games.
Overall, get the game(s), they're really great, but I recommend starting with Awakening to get used to it before it comes out. Fire Emblem If (Fates) releases in North America on Febuary 19th. Don't miss the Kamui DLC for Super Smash Bros. 4!
