So as some of you may know in 1983 the gaming industry was crashed then when arcade game Mario bros released it brought some people back, but sales were still low especially for Atari. The creative man Shigeru Miyamotto wanted to turn Mario and Luigi into Mushroom eating heros . Add 6 different tracks to Super Mario Bros.(Which the original theme is the most recognizable theme in gaming). Sales increased . Eventually becoming the 2nd Best selling game ( beaten by Wii Sports). Every videogame that exist now is all thanks to some italian mushroom addict . If weren't Mario I would not be in to gaming at all. seriously I love Mario. thats the only franchise i play the only series i play. other games i'd play for 20 minutes and get bored but when it comes to Mario i could go for hours playing Mario.

That's a very far-fetched statement. You couldn't tell me that games like Half-Life, Dead Space and Amnesia are Mario-inspired. Mario is definitely a notable character in the realms of gaming, but he isn't THAT apparent.

Well of course Nintendo was essential to the development of the future of gaming. The Mario franchise itself, though doesn't have much correlation to the development of other games. Mario makes gaming important via publicity. Most people know who Mario is, and most of those people have probably played a Mario game at some point. What I'm insisting is that Mario does not directly inspire gaming. He's a symbol that draws in more gamers. Saying that Mario is the only reason that many modern games exist is very misleading.

Sidescrollers aren't easy , Megaman, Ghost and Goblins Super Mario 3D Land and World . The 2D Mario and Sonic Sidescrollers is what is easy. Dont assume just because a couple are easy doesn't mean of all them are. .

It's funny you say that @ Bean because look at SEGA now they're desperate . Nintendo saved the gaming industry not Sega. Face it when comes to games , gamers ask for innovation but then when rehash is released it sells more than innovative games . Look at Mario and Call of Duty , Same thing every time but they get so much . Then you look at innovative games and it doesn't sell well. Games lack innovation because its a smart move. Why do you think the GameCube failed? innovation. Wii U is failing because of innovation .

First off, keep it all in one post, second, I was talking about mario sidescrollers not sidescrollers in general. Land and World don't count as sidescrollers.

3D World and 3D Land definitely are 3D sidescrollers.
